Greetings to the NDG! Like you, I was mesmerized as a child by the Star Wars story. I have always wanted to be a real Stormtrooper! For years I have casually researched owning a complete set of armor, always putting off the inevitable. In the last few months, I researched the Whitearmor (FISD) Detachment forums and made a serious attempt to start. Recently, I made the decision to purchase a full commissioning ANH Stunt Armor set from RS. My brown box moment will come in February! I will apply for my 501st membership soon after. Separately, I have placed my name on the extensive waiting list (now 10 months) for ATA armor, planning to BUILD my 2nd suit. This one will be used primarily for tinkering and be used the most outside of the home. Perhaps I would make this unit a Sandy. A bit about me....I hail from Hobart, Indiana. Have been a lifelong resident. I am an electrical engineer (Boiler Up!) and work in Chicago. I love to build and create, so am looking forward to creating exciting tech for the suit. I've already designed my helmet features, waiting the arrival of my RS suit. I'm looking forward to get the opportunity to see different designs and applications out there. Thanks Duff...I would love to do the meet and greet, however, won't have the RS armor in time. I'm guessing mid to end of Feb. I will have my ATA Hero helmet though, but not fully assembled. Don't want to rush the helmet. LOL Mark, yes I found you! Yeah, I'm very fond of the white stormtrooper...I'm sure as I speak to the Garrison, I'll get some ideas for the 2nd build. I'm trying to figure out what works well inside the helmet, in terms of harness or padding. Any specific threads worth looking into? Thanks! Scott |

you dont have to have armor in hand to come to the event. You can meet up with everyone and get tips and ideas on how to put things together, how to wear the armor and avoid armor bite, etc . Quite a few just show up for as a social event. As for bucket padding. there are quite a few options you can go with.
